The House is Black
Svankmajer's shorts
Quay Brothers (especially Street of Crocodiles)
Resnais' shorts (Toute la mémoire du monde and Le chant du Styrène; his docs about Picasso and Gaugin and Van Gogh are decent too)
Chickamauga
Zero de conduite and A Propos de Nice
Louie Bluie
Seven Chances and Sherlock Jr.
Don Herzfeldt's films (the three shorts that comprise It's Such a Beauty Day total about an hour)
Barom Sarret and Black Girl
Alone. Life Wastes Andy Hardy.
Hollis Frampton's film (particularly Nostalgia and Poetic Justice)
Colloque de chiens
La Jetee
Glas (mesmerizing glass-blowing doc)
Christo's Valley Curtain
Prometheus' Garden (psychedelic claymation)
9 Variations on a Dance Theme (and Organism, both by Hilary Harris)
Also just watched The Set-Up, which is just over an hour but has all the narrative satisfactions of a feature packed into 72 minutes.

I recommend more, especially more animations, if you'd like.

These are the hardest to do, because they're so uncommon. I also categorize my viewing by short films (<30 mins) and features (>30 mins), so it's harder to pick them out. But a few that are somewhere in that range (though this is more like 20-60 minutes).

Night and Fog
The Unknown
Blood of the Beasts
Scenes from the Suburbs
The Bakery Girl of Monceau
Lessons of Darkness
Entr'acte
L'Age d'or
The Red Balloon
White Mane
Dog Star Man
Film
Wavelength
L'oiseau moqueur
Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge

(I'm sure you've seen most of these, I'm just throwing out what I can track down.)

I'm going for the Eustache shorts.

Une Sale Histoire
Le Pere Noel a les yeux bleus
Robinson's Place
Le Cochon
Odette Robert

Mia Hansen-Love has a short on there, as does Jean-Paul Civeyrac. I'm also downloading Paul Negoescu's student films. And Mike Leigh's short made on commission for the Olympics.

Nils Malmros' Pal Christmas fits the bill. And Joan Micklin Silver's Berenice Bobs Her Hair.

Zorns Lemma is Frampton's masterpiece and only an hour! also, The Match Factory Girl is an hour and one of the better movies ever made (same goes for the aforementioned The Act of Seeing... and Menilmontant and Une simple histoire).

The hour is the most underrated duration cinematically
